Insecticidal Effect of Dibrom and Premium Sumithion to Korean Strains of Bedbug and Toxicity to Mice

Abstract
|

|
I hear already introduced insecticides, 5% oil D. D. T., 10% D. D. T. powder, 1% Lindane powder, 1% . Lindane emulsion etc are not effect for erradication of bedbug in Korean Army Society. We have therefore studied comparatively about Dibrom and Premium Sumithion recently introduced organic phosphoric compounds.
The results are as follows:
1) Bedbug-cidal effect of Dibrom is so prompt that KT-50 by usual concentration 0.5% is 61´12", but KT-50 of Premium Sumithion by usual concentration 1% is 98´30".
2) Residual effect of P. Sumithion to the Bedbug is maintained at least 20 days over. But its of 1% Dibrom is less than about 2 weeks.
3) The toxicity of Dibrom is markedly stronger about 2 times than P. Sumithion and about 10 times than 1% Malathicn through orally swallowing, absorbing via skin surface and intraperitoneal test.
